After working for 23 years in the geothermal energy industry, Mike Woodall started Vineyard Layout Services in 1999. Using his background in engineering and laser positioning technology, he developed a more efficient method of establishing planting grids. This system provided increased accuracy, especially in hillside development, improving results, and reducing the overall cost of labor.

 After graduating college, his two sons, William and Jason Woodall, joined the family business. Over the years, Vineyard Layout Services has continued to grow and expand its services. Today we provide marking, mapping, and aerial drone services to major development companies and private vineyard owners all throughout Napa and Sonoma County and beyond.
